The Game…

D

on’t Break Down is a videogame with a revolutionary concept and system.

We have created a new genre within the world of videogames: HORROR SIMULATOR

In the origins of the horror games, the player was the only one having a bad time, deleting threats that the game throws to him based on knives and all sorts of weapons… AKA: The «brave with weapons» against evil.

Later on, the advancements lead to create games where you couldn’t defend yourself from enemies, and you had to hide and keep moving forward, increasing the fear on yourself.

These two concepts are very popular today and have a great success on the players within the survival horror genre.

Why do we assure that our project is a new genre?

A HORROR SIMULATOR?

It’s simple, our vision of the game is complete simulation. In our game, you aren’t a warrior, a girl with powers or a brave and immortal character. Here, you are the character, literally.

To achieve this simulation, we will make use of all available peripherals: keyboard, mouse, microphone and webcam. With these tools we can get the info from your behaviours, such as the state of agitation, nervousness, fear, panic…

With all these emotions recorded by our system, the character, will suffer the consequences just like you would in real life: if the player is very scared, the character will suffer a heart attack, and if we cannot control it, our avatar dies, and this may finish the game.

How Our Simulation System Works?

H

There are several functions in our simulation system.

In fear or panic situations, you, as a player, will always express feelings, and those can be used to create emotions in our game.

– Mouse: Quick or erratic movements, excessive button clicks, continuous movements looking for threats…

– Keyboard: Erratic, rapid and repetitive pulsations of the keys, setbacks or excessive typing before specific situations…

– Microphone: Screaming, heavy breathing, talking alone to calm yourself…

– Webcam: Facial expressions, gestures…
